Scrapbook of Childish Dreams

A little girl’s heart
Tattered and torn
A life with out love
What the world has sworn
No father to hold you
No shoulder to cry
This is the day
Kiss the world good bye

Flipping through pages
The past comes to life
Times of scrapped knees
Paper dolls moreover strife
Little sun dresses
Dances in the breeze
Joy by the hours drifting with ease

Years turn to seconds
Seconds to years
Broken hearts crumble
Shattered by fears
Promises proven repeated untrue
Aged pages of memories
Which later scare you…

Taking you back to the ones left behind
Removing the key, you know what you’ll find
A time before heartache that
Stained you with tears
Wishing and hoping that everything clears
Know that time is not a matter to tend
With each passing second, closer to the end
Why hold back and permit it pass you by…
Listen my daughter; take notice of my enduring cry…

Dust off the cover
Look back a few pages
Down through the year
Reducing the ages
Heart now grown older
Return to the past
Little girl love
Please know it could last…

Don’t add to the book a picture of tears shed
Wipe off your sweet check and
Raise your dear head
Know that a pardon is at delight
Compassionate clemency is surely in sight
So why grow up looking and searching for love
You look to the sky
Search the above
Ear turning up
Smile turned down
Please my dear child, don’t fester a frown

I know you’ve grown older
And are yearning to hear
You wish I was closer to hold you so near
But know this my baby,
Mistakes have been made
Rumors were spread
Games have been played
Lives have been lived
Lives have been lost
But in all the cadence look what I’ve taught:

I’ve shown you genuine love
I’ve shown you dutiful cheer
I’ve shown you to hold close those ever so dear
Don’t let life go
Nor let it slip by
This is my desperate and undying cry

I plead to you precious, from up high above
As your father, I ask you let the next page be love.

Author notes

This is about not holding back from love. We were made for love. We need it like air. You cant live without love.....
