Dear Maureen,
I LOVE this, such a sweet loving expression of hope with its rocking iambic bimeter. Now, being the fanatically picky fellow that I am, I would have written the opening of the final stanza to read:
"I hope one day
that we will see"
so that the perfect iambic meter of the rest of the poem is undisturbed but that's the sort of thing that keeps me awake at night because your hope is in the present, not the future. So take no notice of my quibbling. Just leave it. Your grammar is correct. Applause, it's beautiful.
