Heavenly Kingdom

Missing image

My life has changed since I found the Lord,
my heart  overflows with His sweet love,
with each new sunrise I now awaken,
I pray to the heavenly purple sky above.

As I look up I can almost see your kingdom,
so majestic it seems to have no end,
I stand there waiting,watching, wanting,
just waiting to hear your voice once again.

I can feel your presence surround me Lord,
as a warm sunshine falls upon my face,
the warm breeze blows through my hair,
reminding me of your beauty and your grace.

My journey on earth has been a very long one,
filled with heartache, teardrops and pain,
but your love and your strength is so amazing,
Lord you cleansed me in your springtime rain.

I know when Jesus calls me there  someday,
eternal peace and love shall be abound,
my walk for eternity with you my Lord,
began when I heard the sweetest sound.

You were calling my name ever so softly,
the day I accepted you into my heart,
as I prayed my prayer of Salvation to you,
my new life  with Christ was  about to start.

So each new day I begin with a prayer,
looking  to Heaven and  the morning sky,
I thank the Lord for all my blessings,
as I watch the heavenly Kingdom go by

I would have to agree with L.S., this was a write from your heart. You did an amazing job by fitting Sam's titles into this piece. You can't tell where her's end and yours begins. This was truly worthy of the gold. Congratulations! vj

The thing I loved the most about this is that it reads with pure honesty. I can tell you meant every word of this. I could feel your love in this. True poetry is not always about how many syllables are in each line and if each line's end has a perfect rhyme with the next line's end. (Not there's anything wrong with your poem technically either, just making a point ) Sometimes true poetry is just a song sung from one's heart and soul. To me, you've done that with this one.

Sandy, this is beautiful once again and this is my favorite part, most touching my heart:
You were calling my name ever so softly,
the day I accepted you into my heart,
as I prayed my prayer of Salvation to you,
my new life with Christ was about to start.
