Thank You Jesus

Lord, I just thank You for all that You have done for me,
For paying for my sins when You died on Calvary.
Jesus, thank you for doing what I could never do,
Living a sinless life that was Holy, pure and true.

For the wages of sin is death, and I have sinned for sure,
I would be in Hell just now, if Your blood were not the cure.
I thank You Lord, for taking my place, paying for my sins.
Thanks to Your amazing grace, my Heavenly life begins.

I am sorry for all of the times, that I have let You down,
I know I do not deserve, to wear a Heavenly crown.
But a crown of eternal life, You give to me to wear,
And all the wonders of Heaven, You invite me to share.

Thank you so much Jesus, for Your unconditional love.

Author notes

It will be so awe inspiring that I am not sure we will be able to say anthing at first. But, this is what I have to say to Jesus, when I can.

This was a very beautiful and should be inspirational to all Christians who read it. What Christ did for us in saving us from our sins in giving up his own life we could never epay. The only way we can even come close is to do our best in this life to honor Him, praise Hime and give Him all of our glory. I apologize for being so late in commenting and judging this contest!

    Thank-you for your entry!

We have all fallen short of the mark where you should have been or could have been. Can you imagine, knowing how lazy and ugly our human nature truly is, and still giving up your only child to save such a lot as us? It blows my mind and I just cannot even fathom it. Wonderfully penned words lie across this page Penny!

    Amen.
I am thankful every day of life that i do not have to be perfect in every way because He is and He forgives my imperfections if I lay them at his feet.
This is a great testament of your faith.

Beautiful work Penny...I know I would want to praise Him and beg His mercy. I am so glad He has forgiven me. Satan tries to tell me I am not worthy..and I know I'm not...but Jesus says I am. SO it is in Him that I lay my faith and trust.
IT was nice to read uplifting poetry. Not many in this contest..
It is so sad as to how huge the path to hell is and how small the one is to Heaven...I will be on that small path...

    Fantastic

    This is beautiful Penny.

I was reminded of the passage where Isaiah saw the LORD in the Temple. His confession was "Woe is me, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell among a people of unclean lips." That was his words when confronted with the awesomeness and holiness of God. Upon his confession, an angel took a coal from the altar and touched his lips (Cleansing - he had confessed uncleanness of the lipe).

We realize that we are unholy by ourselves, and only by the blood of Jesus are we made holy - God's grace. You have taken the concept and expressed it in specific terms so beautifully. We look forward to seeing Him, and our words can be a little different from Isaiah's words because we have already received the cleansing through Jesus.

Fantastic write. Beautifully done. I wish you the best in the contest, and I'm really happy to see this contest.

After I have re- found my faith oh so recently.. I really had a great admiration for this piece. It was beyond great. Your words were sooo true! We do not deserve the beauty he has given us, and the forgiveness he has leant upon us. We are eternally greatful.. best of luck in this contest.
