Spring Days (a Lanturne)

Spring
grows warm
while birds sing
flowers blooming
days

Spring
peep frogs
chirping birds
bumble bees buzz
sounds

Spring
cloudless
bright sunshine
endless clear blue
skies

Author notes

I decided to write on both the sights and sounds of spring because Lanturnes are so short. I read your poem to Jess and Jess's poem on love and Patty's poem on love.
(Us great aunts may be slow... but I'd never let you down

I really love the string of Lanturnes they are my favorite form to write in. You have capture a wonderful image here. I love spring and the smells to go with this season is so heavenly. To me this is a winner. I hope Bethy sees it the same way lol.

What a delightful lanturne. It hasn't been all that long that I was first introduced to this form. I have yet to try my own hand at writing one though. I love the newness of spring. Spring is like getting a new slate to start fresh.

I love the spring and all of the brightness. I love how it explodes no subtle build up of soft muted colors, but splashes of purple and yellow and blue.
And yes the birds coming back! And how is it that the rain sounds so much better in April than it did in January?
    Loved these

I love it when someone takes such a beautiful topic, and can express it so poetically. I especially appreciate it when you can follow such a strict structure while expressing it, and do so with such a natural flow. This is beautiful work. Good luck in the contest.

This is a lovely string of lanturnes. Spring is doing its best to burst through the once frozen ground. Beautiful picture painted from your words.

This was great; I love spring time. It is second on my list; well, there are only two on my list of seasons because I hate two of them. First is autumn (sp?). I love the feel, the colours, the smells, everything of fall. but you did great with this.

    Love ya

Penny, this is so lovely. I do love Spring, and I'm glad it's here. Now if the snow would stop, we could enjoy some crocuses and dafodills. Love this poem. Hugs, Patricia

I am not going to pretend that I know what a lanturne style poem is.. ha.. but I can say that it looks like you have done it right.. if that makes any sense. This was a nice overview of the spring time. Bravo.
