Tears slowly flowing down Gods face
Looking upon the human race
Listening to Satan man turned away
Not knowing his way will make them slaves
God says I love you with all of my heart
I gave you free will at the start
I will always be waiting for thee
Living in sin they think they are free
I was tormented beaten and threw at your feet
I came from heaven and into your streets
Trying to show how much I adored
Mocking and whipping was my reward
Every thing wrong is blamed on me
Why are thee oppressed with greed
Following evil and believing it still
Giving this gift to do as you will
I have been with you and walked by your side
You have not seen because of your pride
Can't make you see or straiten you out
Gave you free will with out a doubt
Walking right into sorrows and woes
I will not step in I am letting you go
I will not make slaves of thee
Love for me will set you free
Nor did I choose your suffering and pain
Man took this gift and walks in shame
Walking in blindness its hard to see
Why has thou forsaken me

I must agree with this poem, and in that situation it can be hard to see... That is why the truth can be so hard to descern. This was a deeply though provoking and moving piece. Thank you for sharing it and good luck in the contest.

I think God must be very disappointed in most of his children these days. Kids killing each other, wars, people starving in the streets. People turning a blind eye to the suffering of their fellow humans. Its all so sad This poem really makes a person think. Good luck in the contest

I really like this. I just love poetry that points out truths, especially when they are written from God's viewpoint. I think that this personalizes God for those who sometimes don't even think of Him as a real person. It is also very good at making one stop and think about how their relationship is.
