I Dream to Live By Loatian (Quatern)

Missing image
by ~Gregg Rowe~

Please take me away to Loatian --
Where life will drift in slow motion,
To forget -- en masse -- ribbons red --
Friends, lovers -- placed in final beds:

Where waves sing musical potions,
Please take me away to Loatian --
No intravenous -- I'll be fed --
'Cause daily, I will take my meds.

My heart on earth has surely bled
And salt tears of love I have shed:
Please take me away to Loatian --
Live law's love -- my new devotion,

And drink my wine and eat my bread:
Achieve goal left, before I am dead --
My dream to live by the ocean,
Please take me away to Loatian.

    Stunning

I was amazed with this poem. It expresses so much longing, which is much the way I feel about the Ocean. Excellent write, and keep it up!

This is beautifully written. A lovely, calmness to it that lulls the reader. Excellent poem. Hugs, Patricia

I'm glad you explained Loatian for me because I was about to ask. My favourite part was also "where waves sing musical potions". Thank you for entering the contest. cake

    blissful

Beautiful, the rhyming is nice, not forced but crafted.
Your love of the Ocean is well rendered, I loved the line:
    "Where waves sing musical potions,"
It is so true, being near the Ocean, listening to the special accoustics of surf and sand really does lull a person into blissful forgetfulness. Your poem evoked that for me. Lovely.
