Does Your Faith Provide the Answers?

You have thought yourself a wise man,
Or a person knowing much,
You have studied of the scriptures,
Of concordances, and such,
But do you know the answers?
Do you know why you are here?
Do you know why God in heaven
Placed you on this earthly sphere?
Why he made you temporal, mortal;
Why he formed you from the clay  -
Do you really know the scriptures
Or do you just think you may?

Why is it men must suffer?
Why is Satan free to tempt?
Could not God, the great Creator,
Put a stop to his attempt?
Is there a competition
To win souls down here below?
Is God so weak and helpless
He must let the Devil go?
If God is love and mercy
Must He turn His back on men,
As they head on toward damnation
Can He win but one in ten?

Will God bask in all His glory
On His heavenly bright throne?
Will He laugh, and praise His children,
While the billions sob and groan;
Roasting in a burning fire
As a hog upon a spit,
Wailing, shrieking on forever
In some nether-world pit?
Would this serve some greater purpose,
Or fulfill God's vengeful plan?
Is this the God you worship,
Does it show His love for man?

Does your faith provide the answers
To what life is all about?
Does it leave you with solutions
And remove your every doubt?
Can you see how God in heaven
Reigns supreme on every front?
That His word is true and faithful,
All His answers plain and blunt?
Do you see God's motivation
As pure love for all mankind?
Do you see His purpose clearly,
Is it always on your mind?

yes, yes and yes. My faith explains all that you asked to me, it tells me what life is about, it tells me why I am on earth, and I think about it constantly.... indeed, I think it's because I think about it constantly that the answers are so obvious to me. God never intended anyone to go to hell, he made it for the devil and the other fallen angels. He cares about his people and forgives us of our sins. How could he not? He who gave us the free will that is used to sin? How could he hold that against us? He does not. Not as far as my knowledge of him takes me. As for the constant and often asked questions of "how could God let us sufer if he loves us?" to that the answer is that people are ment to learn and grow from suffering. If you think about it, have you not become wizer from your hard experiances? Have you never gotten stronger from hardships and toil? If only a little? I have to go to class but if you ever want to talk about this stuff please feel free to IM me. ~Chears~

There is none so blind as those who will not see. An old saying that is true. Even more accurate would be there is none so blind as those Satan has blinded to the truth. It is just so sad to see those who think they are so wise who are really so lost to true wisdom. You have done an excellent job here of pointing out the real questions that one needs to consider. Instead of being so quick to blame God and call Him unjust for Hell. A most beautiful poem of faith! God Bless, Penny

The beginning brought a verse to mind...

1 Cor. 1:20 - Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

I really enjoyed this Hoosier. Being a studier in The Scriptures I can tell you that God reveals so much that people overlook in this world, but despite that there are simply some answers that we do not understand. That's why Paul constantly reminds us that our God is "mysterious". That's a part of why we fear (revere) Him. Because we cannot understand! But doesn't that make sense? If we could comprehend things on the same level as God Himself, then He would not be much of a God!!

    Your faith shines

    Outstanding

Great. Thought-provoking. The form is nice and the flow good, but just a tad off in places. The rhyming scheme is even.

You had me worried there for a moment, though. I was hoping I had not mis-read your profile. 'Tis true, outsiders are always there to blame a God they profess no belief in, but I happen to know that he is there. In my personal life I have been touched by death, murder, indiscretion, children and the law, disease and things to numerous to name. I could have blamed God, or worse yet, turned my back on Him. But, He is what kept me going through it all. So, I will continue to keep Him as my anchor post. Then the hurricanes of life will not sweep me away. Thank you for sharing.
