Watching Love Spin

Missing image
Her name is Ashley,
she's a dancer too,
practicing new steps,
she smiles at you.

It melts my heart,
to see her grin,
she takes a fall,
while she spins.

She gets right up,
tries once more,
another big spin,
she's on the floor.

Ashley tells me,
I'll get it right,
I wont fall down,
on opening night.

The big day arrives,
her dress is all blue,
two pony tails,
blue ribbons too.

It's her turn now,
she gives me a frown,
she tells Grandma,
I won't fall down.

She steps on stage,
there isn't a sound,
The music starts,
she spins all around.

She did her best,
she did not fall,
only six years old,
she felt ten feet tall.

Practice makes perfect,
in all you do,
anything worth while,
is not easy to do.

Author notes

This is about my beautiful grandaughter Ashley Jean. She is 6 years old and I love going to her dance recital. She is such a joy and grandmom's little sweetheart. I love you Ashley. You are my little ballarina. Love, Grammy.
