Setting Sun

SETTING SUN

Dark shadows are shimmering,
reflecting the end of another day.
The sunset  fades on the horizon,
the sun is slowly fading away.

The evening breeze is silent,
the lake is so quiet and still.
In the distance can be heard,
the sound of a whippoorwill.

The silence is only broken,
by some ripples in the stream.
StoneS tossed upon the water,
as I contemplate and dream.

Surrounded by God's wonders,
I find it hard to concentrate.
the beauty and the splendor,
fills my senses up with sate.

The twilight shades of wonder,
cast shadows through the trees.
the sunset takes it's final bow,
till it returns once more to me.
