Resurrection Prayer

Missing image
Millions upon millions move without meaning.
Thousands upon thousands stare in disbelief.
Hundreds upon hundreds hunt out new ways to be thrilled
and not one can find their way
to the Truth.

The only way is the way of the cross.
The only way is the way of self-loss.
To lose is to gain
and to give is to get.
To die is to live
and to be reborn is to forget.

To forget because we’re forgiven
not by our deeds or our thoughts
but by what He has given
to me a sinner
and to you a sinner too.
Jesus died so we could live anew.

Jesus died so each one of us would find the Truth.
Jesus died so hundreds would be fulfilled.
Jesus died so thousands would believe.
Jesus died so millions could move in meaning
and live the resurrected life
today and for always.

So as Resurrection Sunday approaches
my prayer is that all would hear
the Good News,
repent of their sins,
and be reborn in the love
of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Author notes

Let's join in a mighty prayer for the lost to be found and for the prodigals to return to their first love. That is what Jesus Christ died for!

Where were u born? What do i mean by that? We r born with the sin nature at birth, that is why all have sinned and yes, He, Jesus is the only way. This weekend we should be reminded of His sacrifice for us all and u have reminded us of it, good work. He will be here soon!

    Joanne,
Thank you for being courageous enough to state that there is only one way. In today's world we keep hearing that there are "many ways" to the same conclusion, but your poem just reinforces that it is not so.

The only way is the way of the cross.
The only way is the way of self-loss.

    Amen in deed.

    Exquisite, Moving

AMEN! Joanne, this is so moving and so beautifully penned. You bring to life what Christ has done for all who will hear and heed; and, I know your prayer is the same as mine, that ALL hear and heed quickly, for earth's time has grown exceedingly short. This is so incredibly written that it literally took away my breath in its beauty. Our gracious Lord and Saviour is smiling on this one!

Lots of love and hugs, SisB♥n

What a wonderful prayer to join in with you on agreement. I loved how you pointed out that in order to gain, we must first choose to lose. I always get a kick out of remarks like "Well, when I came to the Lord, I gave up so much~my cigarettes, my boozin it up, etc" I just want to retort "Like those things were good for you? You gave up the things that were destroying your health?" When in reality, our Lord gave up everything He was entitled to, to ensure us a place in Heaven. I pray that this Easter Sunday those who seldom come to church or those who may have never been will be touched by the Lord. That their eyes would be open to the truth and they would in turn run to Jesus and repent. I pray that there will be rivals occurring in each service this Sunday. That a great anointing would be on God's Word and it would pierce the hearts of all. That we would all remember the great price our dear Lord paid for our salvation. I pray that people will run to the altar to recieve eternal life. May this be the first day of a new future for these new ones. Ipray the ties that bind will be broken in their lives and they will be set free and know what it is to be a new creation. In Jesus name, amen. ♥vj

This is awesome. I loved it. It's so true too, So many don't believe in jesus now a days. It seems like disbelief is a cultural norm in out society. Society follows the world, Gods not of the world, so it creates apithetic Divisions. It's so sad to see how it's going, There taking God out of schools, Soon off money. It's funnie how nonconformists don't believe in Jesus, They realy are conforming with the rest of world. Believing In him would be a form of nonconformity. I love the write, I like how everything points to jesus in casual, and personal depth. I love it. josh
