Our Tower

Once I stood upon your lofty perch,
the view below caused me to search,
the city spread long and wide,
I gave no thought until you died

I watched in shock at your attack,
never dreaming it would break your back

You stood so tall, proud and straight,
all who were with you at heavens gate

My heart is heavy, a long time to mourn,
we won't forget, immortalized forever more

Rest quietly, and as you sleep,
remember we loved you, we continue to weep,

Never to be a fleeting thought gone by,
our memory of you will never die

As I now stand at your feet,
I realize the attack was their defeat,
as they caused you to tumble down,
a nation came together,
when you hit the ground

Mac

    Beautiful Tribute

This was a great tribute Mac, well written and very emotive. It brought to mind in scripture of how "the leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations", as the wound has still not healed for many; and that it would be a great prayer appropriation to use to bring a deeper healing to the US. Beautifully written, Mac, take care my friend, Heather

A truly touching tribute to a time in our history that will not only never be forgotten, but will impact many generations to come. Truly beautiful and full of the emotion that fills this sad time.
