I Don't Know You

Here I sit almost invisible,
While you watch me slowly decay,
And my petals wither and fall,
Dressed in a crown I know everythin’,
But I don’t know why you’re not sorry,
For letting me die after all,
After all I’ve done,
To keep us alive,

Holding you but my hands are cold,
And they burn you right to the bone,
Numbing your pity for me,
Lying alone–you’re next to me,
But your heartbeat won’t let me rest,
It tells me you’re already gone,
Long gone,
From me,

And I don’t even know you,
And I don’t want to try,

In my hand I hold a heart,
And it’s not strong, nor is it mine,
It’s yours to crush with your eyes,
And if you don’t think you want it,
Break it anyway–beyond repair,
So that I cannot use it again,
Without a heart,
There’ll be no more pain,

And I don’t even know you,
But I guess I’ll have to try,
But I don’t want to lose you,
‘Cause I don’t want to die,
