Hail to the Feline

Hail to you, Pippin.
Ruler of the feline world.
King of your domain,
you hold the world in your paws.

Your fur burns, orange,
like a sun that shall never set.
The white of your belly,
glowing white, like snow on a mountain.

Your golden eyes gaze the world,
like the moon blazing high.
Eyes like gold, grand like the riches of Eygpt.
Your eyes like a hynotic charm.

Beware those who pet you wrong.
Whoever darkens your path,
may they beware your feline might.
Like daggers, your claws find flesh.

When pleased by your loyal subjects,
you erupt like thunder, purring.
Such a sympohney pours from you,
like the song of a Siren, enchanting.

When I return, such a greeting you being.
Your mew like a silver bell.
It's sound travels throughout known time.
Your voice inlike any other.

Hail to you Pippin!
Hail to the distroyer of furnature!
Hail to the king of the litter box!
Hail to the boastful hunter!

Hail to you my cat...

Very nicely done. In your last stanza --furnature-- should be furniture. Other than that it is very good. Nice pictures that we can grab hold of and just a wonderful story of a furry friend.

The only thing that is not in your favor is that this is a group contest for the Sisterhood of Cats, but you may have intended to send an application for the group? If it was your intention to join the group then apply again. Occasionally a site glitch will keep an application from showing up. I won't DQ your entry, but I can only consider it for trophy if you are a group member. I will be doing final judging on Sunday because I want everyone to have time to make corrections, etc. So if you do want to join the group, apply as soon as possible at the link at the top of the contest write up.

Thanks for enterring. I am glad I got a chance to read the poem. It gave me a smile

At first I seriously thought I would not laugh, or at least, chucke to this poem's content, but I was wrong, when I started reading "hail to the destroyer of furniture" and so on I chuckled.

Fix your grammar, diction and spelling. Then, rethink your structure, I think you are smothering yourself.

I love my cat. He's like my best bud at the end of the day when everyone else is gone and I am left alone with all the crap people gave me during the day. He's always there to brighten my day.
