Memories

Every generations memory, of the way it used to be
Fond memories of the past, memories that never last
Stored away in the mind, triggered late in life, one last time

Every generation the same, childhood experiences abound
forgotten for awhile, later will be found
Staring into space, a smile upon the face
As memories flood into the light, eyes close gently one last time
As life ends, new life begins

nicely written...everything goes by within a blink of an eye...this is life my friend))

  • Awesome imagery...

Love your muse's fine metaphoric surrealism playing in the hopeful light of the future's ages, Poet!!! Peace, Cyn

You know if there is one thing we all have in common is our memories. They're not the same ones, but we all reply on them to get us through. Great job.

I related to this very much...I'm always remembering those silly little things from childhood that seemed lost forever...

    Thank you for entering.

    Great

I found this a very thought provoking muse, for if you dwell on memories, whether they be good or bad, you are looking back in the past, rather than living in the now and looking forward into the future. I have encountered ones who are always going on about what God did for them, or said to them in the past, and I always wonder to myself why it stopped. Why aren't they still hearing or seeing God doing or saying something to them now? Thank you for this, it was well written with lots of descriptive imagery that caused the reader to want to go back to find their good memories also. Take care my friend, Heather

Beautiful in expression and meaning. It is great to see memories being given a good light instead of those of us always trying to escape them. When the hour becomes late, it is the memories that will shine through the darkest night. Excellent as always Mac.
