Growing up,
a uniformed adolescence,
with everyone the same.
A jumble of money driven lives,
thrown, poverish, into the middle.
The only self expression,
pissed down the toilet.
Coming of age,
thrown among closed mindedness,
A unique soul for them to trample.
Baptized through fire,
and the hatred for my elders.
Growing up,
finally broken,
from the ignorance and empty heads.
Only to find its all the same.
Two souls, mine and hers,
accidentally blessed with life.
Coming of age.
One small soul to pull it to perspective,
to show me that it all was worth it,
to make the world a better place.
One small soul to finally,
bring meaning to my life...
Author notes
I went to private schools up until my junior year of high school. In high school, I met Laura (Dormouse, check her out, she is infinitly better than me...), my girlfriend and the mother of my daughter, Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was born shortly after I graduated, that is pretty much what the poem is about.
Ok, I read and commented on your poem Tired and Drunk.
