Lay me down and bury me.
Let me lie in the good green earth.
I will wait for my second birth.
Lay me down and bury me.
Lay me down; it's my time
I've done my work prepared for me.
Now I am ready to be set free.
Lay me down; it's my time.
Lay me down; let me rest.
I am weary and wasting away.
The night is near; gone is the day.
Lay me down; let me rest.
Lay me down; let me go.
I will not be far; no, I'll be near.
Do not weep and do not fear.
Lay me down; let me go.
Lay me down and bury me.
Lay me down; it's my time.
Lay me down; let me rest.
Lay me down; let me go.

I'm sure that many will find solace in this simple poem. It leaves one feeling a sense of peace, maybe helping those that grieve to accept and let go.
