As the baton falls
the floodgate opens
and the power is unleashed...
I am helplessly swept away
by the powerful, enchanting
flow of perfectly blended color,
Breached by the new life it brings,
my senses are
energized,
tantalized,
mesmerized,
and beyond....
Emotions created
through soothing
vibrations,
I can only drift on
in a trance....
-The Cutoff-
and the energy subsides,
but the echo continues on, fading,
leaving a lasting peace
in it's wake.
Author notes
Eh, in case you didn't notice, this is what you feel listening to a good symphony.... or just good music in general

If you want to hear a great peice of music, get a copy of a Ralph Vaughan Williams CD with "Five Variants on Dives and Lazarus." It's really moving.

Very poetic...moreso than in your usual pieces. Impressive.

hey em. at last!! a good piece from you!! i knew what you meant without the comment, unlike SOME people *cough, cough*. this is a very nice, simple peace describing some of those nifty feelings that come along with a good symphony kinda song. but- not all good music can evoke thost feelings. i know of plenty of good music that does not, i.e., mustard plug, bad astronaut, creedence clearwater revival, cousin oliver, and about 29387490240948092 (rough estimate) others. again, good job, best of wishes, and keep up the good work!!

yep yep yep... a good symphony is always great... especially when playing... ohhh i loved playing the cello in the 6th and 7th grade, but the other celloist (or whatever the name is) ruined it for me in the 7th grade... she wasn't nearly as good as me... she could never stay on tempo or anything... she always fucked up which then in turn screwed everyone else up b/c the other instruments normally follow the cello... i know from first hand experience... if the violins or violas screw up not everyone else screws up but if the cellos screw up, even one of them, then the entire orchestra screws up... okay enough of my rambling... this is a really good piece... love ya tons...
