I Am Me

I am me, and that’s all I need.
I’ll leave you behind in an instant;
It may seem cold I know.
In life there are so many things we cannot control.
Don’t think that you’re special.
Open your eyes to the world.
Everything and everyone is expendable.

I may walk forever alone in this life,
It’s lonely and heartbreaking
Faith and determination will always be by my side.
Though they can not comfort me in the night,

I’ve seen so many things,
Known so many people,
Outwardly all the same,
Turning my back was my first mistake.
I’ll always be there
Never able to escape,
The lies I told then haunt me today,
Taunting me in the dreams that I’m afraid to see
I’m up’ till the next day;
But they’ll always wait for me.
