We face each other now across the muddy, gooey pitch,
And looking at each one of us there's sure no telling which
Of these two frowning characters, both with the name of Paul
Will win today and claim the prize in Sunday's rugby brawl.
There's hatred in the eyes of these whose names are just the same.
They'll carry it out on the field, and glare throughout the game.
The clash of bodies makes a sound, frightening to hear,
The lines of battle now are drawn, the tactics very clear.
He's the kind of player then for whom the rules mean naught,
He'll cheat and lie and sneak around, hoping he's not caught.
He punches one and knees another, blood begins to flow,
Is there nothing can be done to one who's sunk so low?
The second Paul comes to the fore, he the great white knight.
His uniform is stained with red from this ferocious fight.
The rules, the rules, they are the thing, we must obey the rules,
For if we don't the game is gone and we are naught but fools.
A mightly tackle now is thrown, the two crash to the ground,
The impact heard a mile away, a crushing, crunching sound.
The cheating Paul, unconscious now, is taken from the game -
The noble Paul at last prevails, preserving his good name.
And looking at each one of us there's sure no telling which
Of these two frowning characters, both with the name of Paul
Will win today and claim the prize in Sunday's rugby brawl.
There's hatred in the eyes of these whose names are just the same.

Author notes
Paul Rowley is a British rugby player and I used him as my cheating, evil twin who I finally had to vanquish in order to preserve the good Paul Rowley name. This was lots of fun.

Very nicely done! And the addition of the picture was a great touch, too. But this was very vivid and tells a lot about this "evil twin" of yours. Thanks for entering, and good luck!

Paul, again you have written another masterpiece. I have never in my life watched a rugby game, but I feel as if I just did. Good thing you did away the your evil twin. Mine kicked me in the shin. LOL Hugs, Patricia

Dad this was great! I keep trying to find signs of you actually being human....a mistake, a bad write....something...and I just can't. But a lot of people say that Dad's aren't humans, so go figure.
