Sing a song of wonder

Missing image

Dream... the dream of innocence
as the path of life goes on
sing the tune of clarity
in the lyrics of the song

Dance.. the jig of joyfulness
and hold your head up high
so do this all care-freely
and never question why

As times and tides are changing
and with them... we slow down..
but never loose that passion
and never wear a frown

And... with each passing season
be thankful for your gifts...
the pulse of life is passing
like the wing-beats... of the Swifts

So when you meet your maker
and your time on earth is past
give thanks... for all the splendor
and tell him... "It's been a blast " ......

Great rhythm and rhyme in these verses, flows so nicely from one verse to the next, Last verse says it all in a wonderful concluding way. Well written.

Many thanks Wendy.. It was a pleasure to write as too often things spiritual can be a little on the heavy side ...so this is my version

it is easy to forget the simple things in life that make it sweeter...a simple smile goes a million miles (even when one is feeling down ) and a snort of mirth can lift the heaviest of hearts. Many thanks for your lovely comments

    good job

Hey! good job. this is a nice poem. only my thought is, when we meet our Maker, if we are reconciled with Him, aren't we going to be more likely to say 'it's GOING to be a blast forever and ever?'

This was a fun read! It was fast passed and put a smile on my face. I love how you word your stanzas, especially this one~
    "Dance.. the jig of joyfulness
and hold your head up high
so do this all care-freely" Clever! Great read!

A very positive and uplifting poem. But clearly the best part of it was the wonderful, perfectly moderated rythmn of it! It was very well written.

    My favorite lines were:

~~As times and tides are changing
and with them... we slow down..
    but never loose that passion
    and never wear a frown~~

Those, I think, are what I can relate best to... and are probably the quickest I forget! LOL
