Welcome friend, to the madness,
we deal with hate and with sadness,
every once in a while, we get gladness,
but most days it's just badness.
Welcome now, to the loony bin,
a background look at a users sin,
don't let them get under your skin,
if you lose your cool, they just win.
Put on your armor, swing your sword,
it's a dangerous place among the hordes,
they all serve a different lord,
be very careful not to get gored.
A moderators life is one of stress,
always cleaning someone Else's mess,
an intricate game of social chess,
we don't know all, sometimes we guess.
You chose this path, no one to blame,
by next week you'll think you're insane,
as users chase you like raging flames,
trying to mess you up in their games.
Hold your head high, keep your pride,
by the rules, make them abide,
we will be there, by your side,
On this crazy Allpoetry ride.

Someone flingin Poo again? I'm glad that things are working for you guys. I see so many people bitch about what the Mods do. I myself think some of the writers here get away with far too much. Makes them lucky in my book. You all have a tough job as peoples opinions on what is right varies so greatly. I admire you for sticking with this position as its a tough one. One minor thing this might be sleeker if the 18th line read like this 'By next week you'll think you're insane" or maybe not????

I'm still relatively new here, so I am not entirely clear what either moderators or greeters do. I myself have never entered the "Chatterbox," so I suppose to the extent that has any relationship to the duties discussed, I'll just never know. The poem, though, is witty. The aaaa bbbb rhyme is held perfectly, and the metric tone seems right to me. Quadruple rhyme is tough to write, because the repetition of sound can, if one is not careful, sound farcical. Also, you must choose the rhyming words with care due to their different repetitions. Again, of course, you did an excellent job.

I'm glad to see the rhyme. You know how I am...
I admire those who can handle the mod job and I appreciate the work and stress that goes into it. I have little contact with the mods as far as the site goes because I have had so few problems but the few times I have needed help they are always there. I can imagine there is a lot to deal with. This gives a bit of insight into that. I am grateful to all those who help the site run smoothly. A great welcoming poem for Vonnie.

I know the job of moderator is very difficult and for the most part it's a thankless job. But everyone on the team has been carefull selected to perform a task because they have proven to be someone who can trusted and fair. I adore Vinnie and I have had the pleasure of working with her myself on the greeter staff. She is diligent and hardworking and has a heart of gold. I cannot imagine her being anything short of an asset to the team. I hope everyone here will receive her warmly and treat her with the respect she deserves. This is a wonderful dedication to her Sweetie!
