Waiting For Spring

Missing image

Impatiently I wait for Spring,
to hear the children as they play.
A floral bouquet it will bring,
Colorful blossoms every day.
To this picture I gladly cling,
the end of Winter's what I pray.

Its quick arrival I do pray,
The perfect season known as Spring.
I'm excited about that day,
A renewed feeling it will bring.
Watching  bunnies frolic and play,
It's the picture to which I cling.

To bad days gone, I will not cling.
For better ones I'll always pray.
Knowing that soon it will be Spring,
I'm very anxious for that day.
So many treasures it will bring,
Like laughter from the kids at play.

The children long to run and play,
To the warm Sun their hearts will cling.
I thank the Lord each time I pray,
For giving us the gift of Spring.
My life He blesses every day,
A calming presence He does bring.

No care of what tomorrow brings,
Today I'll watch my daughter play.
Excited for the dawning Spring,
Together we will kneel and pray.
To His mercy and love we cling,
So greatful for each given day.

We all should praise Him every day,
For all the joy His love does bring.
He watches as our children play,
And to His strength I daily cling.
With praise and worship I do pray,
As we wait for the touch of Spring.

Waiting for Spring to start my day,
Sweet children at play, it will bring.
To God I cling,  and always pray.

Congratulations with your golden trophy for this wonderful poem
This is definately worth it, as it seems so hard to compete with such a good poet as you are, who comes up with perfectly looking poems

You have out done your self again. I have ryhmed a Sestina in it's original form but did not know they actually have a Ryhmed Sestina Form. I am going to have to check it now. Thank-you for the new form. Your word choices were beautiful in here and the imagery of Spring made me warm all over. We actually had a 50 degree day yesterday so all my Spring prayers are working. I agree with EIQ and it is wonderful that you intertwined your Faith in this poem as all things come from Christ. You did a great job with this challenge

Thank-you for entering the contest and for following the rules!

I have never understood the sestina (it's a form I don't think I'll ever have the imagination or energy to try--kudos to you who have the courage, lol), but I too yearn for the spring to come. Lately, where I live it has been raining or cloudy and cold as ice, but over the weekend we have finally been blessed with warmth and sunshine. Even I, a winter child, can only stand cold winds and rain for so long before I begin to yearn for the sun. Those golden rays lift my spirits immensely.

I love the tone of this--you also entwine your faith into it, which we all should do. A stunning work.

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora
