Nothings' as fun as owning a cat
Who spends all day asleep in the house
Especially one who's lazy and fat
And wouldn't think of catching a mouse
Claws your shoes and pukes on your chair
Scratches out litter all over the floor
Makes sure your clothes are covered with hair
Who could ask for anything more?
Attacks your feet while you're in bed
And when you’re sleeping, makes things crash
Bites your hand for not scratching her head
Gets the dog blamed for dumping the trash
Licks your face and bites your nose
And sticks her butt right up in your face
And when your walking, claws your toes
Leaving her lunch all over the place
Goes to the kitchen and claws the bread
Visits the bathroom and leaves a stink
From the smell you are sure, something is dead
Now its time for her nap in the sink
While you are working she sleeps all day
Saves up the strength for coming night
For when you are sleeping it's time to play
Waking you up with a scratch and a bite
Why do I keep such misery around?
Totally useless, lazy and fat
Truly my mind must not be sound
But somehow I love that lazy old cat!

Oh I loved that poem. Can relate to it so so well. You really made me laugh because their antics always seem to be the same. We don't own cats, but are their servants and you made that so very clear. Loved it. Thanks

coooooool!!!!!!
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!
made me roll on the floor laughing- all cats do exactly the same things all the time!!!!
Only mine does catch mice- from outside the house and brings them in... another of those little things that drive my poor mother wild
fav verse was
"Licks your face and bites your nose
And sticks her butt right up in your face
And when your walking, claws your toes
Leaving her lunch all over the place"

Nice poem. Not quite how my owner is, though. She is very territorial and does not want the other cat nor the dog anywhere near me.
Your form is good and the rhyming scheme works. Your flow seems a little forced in places, though. Thank you for sharing. -
really cool poem...especially because i have a cat and thats the exact descrtiption! anyhow...thanx for entering my contest!

"Truly my mind must not be sound

Cats are really lazy, but they are so great to have around. Great write about a great animal.
