Once a young man with such fire in his eyes
Reeking with ambition until meeting his demise
Realizing the world slipped from his hands
Led to the obliteration of a destined great man
Walking among the living though he ceased to exist
Painfully immersed in opportunities missed
Life passed him as he remained in the same position
A considerable consequence for those who lack vision

Inspiring! I would love to know that someone would read this and just get up and do something. I see this all the time and its very sad to me, so many young men and women have already given up on life without even knowing iit. Whatever your passion is (we both know what it is) just go after it.

Nessa! Glad you enjoyed this write, many people can relate to the man in this one. So many of us get caught up in the just over broke cycle and forget about our dreams.
I am so glad you left him and that he is now your ex

Inspirational and driven!
So many of us are just like that young man; lacking vision, allowing opportunity to slip through our fingers while we wait for something better to come along. The message here is: if you want something bad enough, go out and make it happen for yourself and stop waiting for it to fall into your lap. This was a really inspiring and motivating poem Dee. Thanks for sharing and welcome back to the AP scene.

Why thank you my little grammar nazi
I hadnt even realized that.
Glad you enjoyed the write and I totally agree with you. We place too much emphasis on material objects, if we took our eyes off ourselves and helped others we would be fine since you reap what you sow, more abundantly, wouldnt we be taken care of?
Some food for though

I must agree, those without a vision for their lives will always be drifters.
You know how we all get to the point where life seems empty and worthless, even if we have all that we and anyone else could dream of having...some people are still not satisfied. Too many aspire to only have material things--while that is nice to a comfortable life financially, what about leaving an impression upon the hearts of other people? You have to wonder what could've come from those who have been denied a chance due to rough circumstances...but it's just pitiful if the person that was blessed with everything doesn't use at least some of their talents or resources to help others along.
Just one little thing: "realization" is a noun, and I'm thinking that you probably wanted to use a verb there--"realizing"--instead.
Many blessings,
Raven Aurora
