Fun Without Gravity

Gravity is not to be blamed
for falling in love at all.
Why not fall in love in space
where you'll float, not fall.

In space, if you’ve an urge for a potty,
make sure you spin upside down
with your trumpet blowing upwards, or
the nep-tunes will turn you into a clown.

I often wonder what a poet
would write on nature in space;
Perhaps about galaxies, black holes
and luna-tic meteorites of disgrace.

I often think they should play sports up there,
But playing wouldn’t be fun without atmosphere!

Gravity seems stronger on some days than others, but on the day you wrote this... your brain was flying high!

Gravity sucks! ...yeah, lame joke, but still. I like the little play on words

"Why not fall in love in space
    where you'll float, not fall."

    It's clever and amuses me.

On the subject of sports and space, I'd imagine it would be hard to run if your feet don't touch the ground.

    Interesting poem, I like it.

Well, if anything "fell" in space, I'm sure we'd already be far out of orbit by now...probably lost in a black hole somewhere

I have never quite understood physics, it's too damn hard to grasp the concept lol. But you have made a mockery of this difficult subject by infusing it with some lighthearted humor here. I love reading your funny writes because you always have something witty (yet relevant) to say. And aside from that, I can't write humor to save my life lol! Hreat piece honey! (I love the photo)

Imagine trying to cook or wash clothes in space!

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

I asked for a spoof, and I got it! This is cute, mina, "Why not fall in love in space where you'll float, not fall." This is a worthy entry to the International Year of Physics contest - applause.

P.S. I keep trying to send an applause, but receive a message "aborted." I don't know if it's a problem with my system or not. I hope you received my applause. In case you didn't, I am writing this so OTHERS will see I am on record as sending applause LOL

Another amusing and worthy entry in this contest. The stanza "In space, if you’ve an urge for a potty,/ make sure you spin upside down" is particularly funny in light of real events. One of the most comical vexing problems to NASA engineers remains how to make a working toilet for the space shuttle. Apparently, dating back to the days of the Apollo program, there has been a remarkable amount of engineering devoted to this "problem" and, at least as of a few years ago, it was STILL embarassing NASA that they were getting "complaints" from the astronauts about the discomforts.... I was laughing, and loved this fun play on gravity.
