Creamy Chocolate bunnies
hiding pastel colored eggs,
here comes Peter Cottontail,
hop hopping on his legs.
It's time for jelly beans,
and soft marshmallow peeps,
yummy peanut butter eggs,
and many other tasty treats.
Time to buy a pretty dress,
an Easter bonnet for your head,
time to bake an Easter pie,
and to bake some paska bread.
The Easter ham sure smells great,
we all gather round and pray,
we thank the Lord for all He gave,
as He died on the cross that day.
It is Easter so lets us rejoice,
let the children have their fun,
but have them say their prayers,
thank Jesus when the day is done.

Oh Sandy, you know how much I love it when you write children's poems, and this with Easter, I adore it...what a glorious time of year, and I love how you reminded the children what it is really all about. Of couse in the beginning, and at the late hour, I wanted a creamy chocolate bunny
What a beauty this is! Thank you for sharing your lovely work, and like I said the children's writes just touch my heart! Also, thanks for the great email, I sent it to Nick too, and we laughed so hard
Love and hugs, Annie

Ah, I love the point of this! It's happy and joyful and Eastery, but it sticks in the little message: Ahem, remember the point of Easter, and teach it to your children. It's very subtle
But I like this. It brings back some really cute memories from when I was little that I forget, but don't like to. Nice write!
