Cherubic Love Unexpected

For My beautiful daughter Michaeyla, who has taught me so much already....

That miraculous day, the stork was looming,
The result at first, I thought was dooming.
The smoggy clouded skies finally opened and cleared,
Forming a newborn crystal I had previously feared.

This innocent cherub finally transformed my life and my heart,
It took a lengthy time, and permitted a clean-slated start.
I now experience love on a different frequency,
Without her, I can't imagine a worthy life for me.

Hypnotized by her pure hazel eyes,
Shedding tears of love in her cries,
She is my muse , this, no one denies,
I am the creator of perfect surprise.

Now I finally envision the loving light,
Yearn to touch her skin and hold her tight.
We laugh together, such an adorable plight,
She dances in my mind and soul day and night.

How could I ever have thought this angel to be a mistake?
She lives for me, I live for her, she makes my earth quake.
Many months it took for acceptance and bonding to make,
This Cherubic love unexpected is my heart's favorite ache.

Arianna

    Beautiful

Awwww, what a sweet poem!! That was so beautiful it almost brought tears to my eyes. But since I can't find the tears to cry anymore, well, I just am not able to cry. But if I could, I would. Your daughter must be something very special to you, and it's obviously true what they say about children changing people's heart. Great poem and awesome work.

A beautiful tribute to your daughter, Arianna. I like the image of "cherub" in particular. Additionally, I know several of your more recent poems have dealt with recent angst. It's a delight to see this one, so optomistic in vision, appear. It may be a reflection of the subconscious too -- at least I hope so, because I love seeing your happy side.
