I look in to the eyes of many,
And in each pair of eyes
I see something new.
But do they see anything at all
In these two blue eyes?
I see nothing in them
When I look in a mirror,
Except the only thing about me
That I view as nice.
My eyes are the only thing
That I never want to change,
But my eyes, like everything,
Change alone and fail me.
What can I do,
What can I say,
That is of any worth?
In others, I see beauty,
Strength, wisdom,
A care-free soul,
And even happiness;
All the things I never see
When I glance in to a mirror.
I walk, watching others pass,
And I wish I was one of them.
What I am, I can't change,
What I want, I can't get;
I stare in to the mirror,
Ignoring all my bad parts,
And I focus only on the good;
I gaze into my own eyes.
