Slip and Fall

Written in 1999

The days are longer,
The nights are shorter;
Life has been flipped
Up and around.
I hold on to what I can,
Grab for stable things,
So I will not fall.
But if I lose my grip,
If I slip off,
Will you be there
To catch me
And put me on my feet;
Or will you step aside
And let me fall
On my back,
Maybe to my death?
I guess I won't know
Until I slip and fall;
Hope can warm my heart;
And maybe shield the truth.

Author notes

I don't know WHAT I was thinking when I wrote this one. LOL! And god only knows who it was written too and/or about. You lose those thoughts sometimes, I guess.
