The walls come down
As the trumpets cry
The peasants are rooting
For the other side.
The king is sick
The prince is a jerk
The queen is fat
And the serfs won't work.
"In the kingdom of the blind
The one eyed man is king"
But why lead a horse to water
If the fat lady won't sing?
Money is scarce
And the livestock's thin
What good is trade
If the rich just win?
There's disease in the streets
Yes, the rats agree
While the fleas all play
A bubonic symphony.
"In the kingdom of the blind
The one eyed man is king"
Why lead a horse to water
If the fat lady won't sing?

Yes, It's a song and that's the refrain.
Thanks for your browse around the

It's good, though the second to last line seems to serve little-to-no purpose, unless that's diffrent with the music you have in mind?
-
Intriguing.

does it have music to it?
or were you just playing?

Not quite sure what to make of this poem exactly. I like the way you fling around ideas like catapulting rocks into the rich man's court. Very interesting lyrics. Is this from a middle class perspective?

excellent
this was good horus... in that it made me laugh(not as much as your previous poem though hahahaha) and it also carries a razor in its boot with the lines In the kingdom of the blind
The one eyed man is king"
excellent

When I first started reading this I mistakenly thought that it was a social commentary on the up coming and seemingly doomed nuptials of Chaz and Camilla
I liked the inclusion of the three well know phrases about the kingdom of the blind, leading a horse to water and the fat lady singing, it added some coherence to this as I wasn't quite sure where it was supposed to be going, if anywhere, and I at least found some comfort in the vaguely familiar

If the fat lady won't sing
Put her on a diet
We'll take bets to see
How long she keeps the quiet.
The serfs always root for the other side...until down the road they wish for the status quo....but the grass is always greener on the other side of the kingdom.

why thank you.

hahahaha! this is funny! I couldn't help but smile when I read this. I've been looking on something to comment and after going over about 10 horrifying entries by teenage drama queens and kings, I was happy to come across your lyric. It was a refreshing break from reading cliche. Poets like you make me want to continue learning because I know there's still some hope left for songwriting and poetry.
