To My Chris

When I'm around you
My knees grow weak.
I can barely stand.
I can barely speak.
I get tongue-tied
When you're around
Afraid to breath,
Or make a sound
Caught in a trance
Through this moment in time
Surrendered to you
Surprised that you're mine
I won't close my eyes
or lay down to rest
Afraid this moment
Will soon be the past.
So I inhale deep
and Finally close my eyes
And imagine your kisses
Upon my cries
Healing me slowly
And erasing my fears
Squeezing me tightly
And wiping my tears.
Singing to me,
like you always do
So slowly I wrap
All my heart INTO YOU!

Author notes

I wrote this the second night Chris was in rehab,
I am missing him something fierce.
~He's out of rehab now but He has to go back
because he got discharged on medical leave so
I'm not missing him right now, Today is our
anniversary btw

This reminds me of a poem I posted her a short while ago, although mine is a rhymed villanelle, there are some very definite correlations. Good job.

Oohhh i know this feeling now! Its one of the best in the world. And your words just describe it perfectly. I've tried many times to write about love like this and every time I couldnt think of words to put into the meaning, but you did. Great write! Very beautiful.
