A man with a destiny once walked among us
So was it foreseen
He conquered all his childish fears
To stand up for his people and his beliefs
And from a teachers-son
He soon grew up to become a great leader
Although he never reached his final goal
He left his mark on our world
Like no man ever did before
Too soon was he captured by the enemy troops
Unsure of his future
And the future of his people
He made the ultimate sacrifice
No longer he is among us now in flesh and blood
But forever will he be in mind and spirit!

I understand this very well. Henry H was indeed a fearsome man. Come and read some of my poems......

Well I would have prefered to know whom you were talking about, or to have more specific details of his life so I could guess. Nontheless, this is a fairly well-crafted poem. Although it didn't really rhyme, it kept a nice flow throughout, without akwardly long sentences and whatnot. It showed some of this leader's thoughts and emotions, such as uncertainty and fear. Thought the ending was interesting, sort of saying that he's still with us now. Good poem, best of luck in my contes!

I think the answer is Jesus. It has uplifting approach how he started something, but couldn't finish it. I really like this poem. It has good meter and rhyme scheme. Kendhal22

I'm sorry Dakkon, but it isn't Malcolm X either. I prefer to keep his name unknown. Most of you probably don't even know him. But keep guessing if you like

Thanks for correcting my mistakes sistatroll, but it isn't Martin Luther King nor is it Kunte Kinti. Just call him 'X'

Bravo
The majority of the great achievements that have come about in this world have required a blood sacrifice. However, in such cases as Malcom X, the sacrifice was worth it. As a side note, if you aren't talking about him, then I apologize most ferverently. This is a very good write, and I'm suprised that there hasn't been more comments on this piece. Bravo -
In the fourth line, it should be "beliefs" and then, "teacher's son"... unless you meant something different and I didn't catch it. Who are you talking about it this? At first I thought it was Martin Luther King, or maybe Kunte Kinti. Just curious.
