Angels Lent For A Time (A Sicilian Gregorian Sonnaiku Sequence) For Hugh Wyles

Missing image
~by Gregg Rowe~

To Hugh and Edna Wyles & Family

Dedication

In memory of  Vicki Wyles b.29.02.56 d. 01.07.86.
and her twin Jacqui Wyles b.29.02.56 d. 23.02.05.

I’ve never had the joy of Fatherhood,
Or watch my children hushed before my eyes:
Angels are born to leave this mortal life --
Depart to Heavens, rest in their sainthood.
Eth’real spirits enjoin External love --
And night stars twinkle through tip covered wings.
Silently you and Edna  hear Twins sing --
On earth you’ll walk throughout His sacred lands.

falling budded leaves
two twin monuments erected
willow branches weep

The Dad you are until the end of time:
To understand your grief -- we’ll help you brave;
Two spirits search and find the strength to climb --
With morning suns you shall both rise and wave:
For your day will come when your bells will chime,
When you will lie next to your Angels graves.

When you will lie next to your Angels graves:
The earthly answers you may never learned --
Yet title parenthood you surely earned,
Your knowledge now is your kin has been saved.
Where reproduction was the mortal crime;
-- Left you some loving angel memories.
--Life continues with its uncertainties;
Angels Wyles had been lent for a time --

snowflakes
cumulus clouds float on water
white covered beds

Now suffer, they -- no more, nor shall thy cry --
The last of rhymes – from a sword to a pen:
On these angel memory wings you’ll fly.
To share your energy through writing  Zen --
To show us through grace and love -- when we die:
To have just loved is a God’s gift.  Amen!

    Breath-taking

    Wow. Just wow really. You seemed to put so much thought and consideration into each line. Each miniscule detail of the poem was lovingly placed in, and it just makes it such a fantastic poem. Yet, it seems so awfully peaceful and calming, it's just a joy to read and it's brilliant to see such talent on this site, truly it is. So well done, this was a sensational, inspirational write.

    A touching and beautifully penned piece Gregg. I was so sad and found tears in my eyes when I read Hugh Wyles poems about his precious daughters. I was moved so very much... as I am a parent and the very thought that my children might leave this earth before me is a painful thought. I can feel his hurt and the lonliness and simply know how obvious the loss of a child is...as it leaves a massive hole in a persons life.

    You wrote this with such deep compassion and it shows in each line as well. A lovely and interesting form! Best wishes adn s... ~genielassie~

    Brilliance

    Dearest Beloved Gregg,
    ~~~
    Your song is beautiful heartfelt spiritual and a lasting divine tribute to Hugh and his family in this time of great need. This eternal tribute is something to behold. I truly believe this exquisite masterpiece of art from your hearts of hearts is the ‘eighth wonder’ of the known world beloved Greg. I am graced to behold the words of a modern master as you bring light clarity and divine healing to the entire Wyles family and the entire universe. I am sure they will all deeply treasure your graceful tender divine words of love for all of eternity. This song should go down in ‘History’ as of one of the greatest songs every penned. This is beyond anything I have ever seen or dream of upon terras shores. For all eternity may the heavens bless you in amour and in heavenly wings of Je’tadore to you and yours and all our world family.
    Your writings are so deep and they really move me. I just love your wording-its so stunning! I haven't read this kind of poem structure before, with the three lines in italics between the stanzas. It made it interesting. I feel kind of bad knowing that the people you dedicated it to were having a hard time and you've probably made people feel their pain. I know I did. Thanks for letting me read some of your poems.     BukGirl: May I use that comment in my definition of this form in my presentation paper to the University English Department at Concordia. You seem to have summed up sentiments of incorporating the two forms into one, the unison of two cultural forms of poetry weaved into one to bring together the transitional and the meditational.     Oh, this is just so sad. I did not realize it was a memorial poem when I clicked. I am attending the funeral for my great-grandmother tomorrow, but I am not grieving, because she had so wasted away that I am happy her suffering is over. I have no idea what it would be to lose a child, but this just broke my heart, put a lump in my throar and sent goosebumps down my arms. I send my sympathy to the family, and will say a prayer for them.
    A beautiful tribute. I love the form, really inventive, and the poem itself is wonderful. Thanks for a beautiful write.
    My dear Hugh: At this time -- since hearing the news this morning when I first logged in and penning this all day, -- I am now going to take a rest. My condolences extended to you, Edna and your family and I send you my energy of love to help you through this turbulent time. PS: You know I wear my heart on my sleeve. Gregg
    Dear Gregg,
    This is both a tribute to my late children and an honour to me.
    There is little I can say, buddy, except thankyou from the depth of my heart and:
    ~~~
    Worn with weeping, robbed of sleeping
    yet I know
    two precious souls are in God's Keeping.
    He Willed it so.
    ~~~
    Thankyou again. Regards and best wishes. Hugh.
