Best Friend and a Star (a Riddle)

A best friend and a star
I've been known to travel far.
Sometimes a day, leg, tooth, or ear,
I let you know when dangers near.
Also, a fish, a tag, and a fight,
Berry, bane, flower, wood, and "night."

Author notes

This is a new/old write, and though simple, some may find complex. Hope it is enjoyable.

    Go for it Billy Jean, and don't be afraid to step out of that clichet called "the box!" And truth betold, I used to be the worst at them too and I only got good through some form of osmosis. I mean, I have studied this form which many scholars refer to as the oldest form of poetry (see book, Exeter Riddles), and that's another conversation that we'll get into at the proper time.
