All I Have To Give

Missing image

The Lord is listening to all our prayers,
He feels the pain that's replete in your heart.
I know what you two are going through,
and it is tearing my soul apart.

You have suffered such a painful loss,
another daughter's gone on before you.
"That's not the way it's supposed to be",
words I'm sure you've said a time or two.

Children, no matter what their age,
are the light of our everyday.
When they aren't with us any more,
it turns all our blue skies gray.

I wish that I could comfort you,
and hold you when you cry.
To give you all the answers,
every time that you ask why.

The only thing that I can do,
is to get on my knees and pray.
To ask God for His comforting touch,
and to ease all your pain away.

These simple words that I have written,
are all I have to give you.
Know they've come straight from my heart,
and the love I send is true.

Author notes

I wish there were something I could do to ease your pain.
My prayers and love is all I have to give...and they are yours.
Bless you both.

I feel the message in this pooem so deeply. I wrote something to express the same feelings to my best friends mother when he passed. It is true that no chind shoud ever go on before their parents. I can't Imagine how I could possibly live without my daughter.

Darling sam, I read your first prayer to Hugh and Edna that I loved as it came from your heart, this prayer is as equally beautiful, that I know Hugh is will love and receive great comfort from. The outpouring of LOVE I have been reading is so wonderful it brings tears to my eyes, for our Darling Hugh. Thank you my darling sam~Love~Joan

    Sam -
I began with yours and I believe i am ending with yours for the time being. You have such a gift of putting love and comfort into words. Of all your poetry it is what I consider the most "you". From a 14 year old girl who you have never met to wonderful friends you have known for years you always have a way of finding just the right words.
God Bless you my dear friend.
    Susan

Beautifully written -reaches the heart + soul

    Sam,

Beautiful words spoken straight from the heart. The challenges that we face in life can be unbearable but we must realize that those who pass on are always with us ... in spirit and in our hearts. It tears my heart apart too, for the sudden loss in a friends life. Hugh is a great friend and I hope that he can get through this a little easier knowing that his extended family cares. This was simply beautiful, Sam.

    Brilliance

Utterly Divine. I agree with you Samplette tis nought the way life should be. We as parents long for our children to bloom beyond our lifetime. Our children are the fruit of our love. Your simple words are much more than words! They are beacons of universal light in this time of need for our beloved Hugh, Jacqui, Edna, and all the universal family we share under the morning sunrise of the Lord.
