We are left

the sun
stopped

in the sky today
and no one noticed

the world stood
stone still

and people
kept their own pace
swirling along
in their own space

oblivious
to our cataclysm

her tiny heart
had yet to beat

her expectant
fragile hopes
so small

only God can see
how much
she will be missed

before we got
to know her
she was gone
and we are left

frozen in time
