I look upon the face of the beautiful moon
And my heart gives a lonely sigh.
My lovely moon has been worn with years
Of painful nights filled with waterless tears.
Alone in a star studded sky
My moon’s light begins to fade
As her sun begins it’s descent
Leaving cold shadows to create the crescent.
How I long to descend upon my moon
And bring healing to her scars,
But my moon is out of reach of my passion
Nor can she be helped by my compassion.
I try to launch my love across the sky,
But it is unable to leave the ground.
So I wrap my arms around the air
For my beautiful moon is not there.
