As seasons change in nature's harmony,
one disappears as another comes into view,
my winter doldrums are about to leave me,
as the frost changes into morning dew.
The snow banks are melting ever so slowly,
trickling streams of water down the hill,
running gently into the farmer's duck pond,
nearby are remnants of the old saw mill
The pastures and meadows are still barren,
soon new life will be blooming all around,
the echoing silence of the harsh Winter,
will change to nature's re-birthing sound.
The scent of wood burning will soon be gone,
replaced by sweet fragrances in the air,
butterflies will leave there safe cocoons,
and the black bear will leave the lair.
I watch as the winter weather fades away,
as my mind slips into the warmth of Spring,
as the colors of nature fill my senses,
with all the flowers April showers bring.

Wow, amazing description on the changing feelings as the seasons change. I feel the same way to when it comes to the smells of nature, though I associate buring wood more with the fall. Anyways, I really enjoyed this poem since I pay way too much attention to the seasons. My friends think I'm crazy because of it! Good job and sorry about the ranting.

Oh Sandy we’ve just had a week long of a Siberian Winter here (got some awesome photographs too). But oh my what a time in life for this, the seasons of life are much alike the seasons of the soul yes. Springtime Summer Autumn Winter Snowfall Rainfall Sunshine and fierce storms and hurricanes and all.
I was inspired with nice quote tonight to follow this one maybe, “it takes but a moment an instant to destroy harmony peace and balance and an eternity to put this right again” Once again alike your seasons here. God Bless you

This is beautiful Sandy, you can write the most lovely visual nature poems...I can even smell them and this one is no exception!
Now this is the stanza I love:
The scent of wood burning will soon be gone,
replaced by sweet fragrances in the air,
butterflies will leave there safe cocoons,
and the black bear will leave the lair.
Only the "black bear" can stay in his lair,
have seen one or two, scary
maybe brown, lol, but none the less, I kept my distance,lol...all the best in the contest my friend, be well and God bless you, Love, Annie

Very sweet
A lovely little poem, so it seems pedantic to mention several spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, but I have now!
Luv,
Robin.
