Twilight grew closer,
As he muttered in her ear
The words of his heart.
“Catch this kiss in a platinum locket
And keep it next to your soul.”
Holding the locket he kissed her
Blushed cheek and uttered,
“Let this sweet caress remind
You of my love always
And let this be the memory that
takes you home.”
He placed it around her neck,
Just as she began to wake.
“Hush now, hear the angels
whisper your name” he spoke.
Her ice blue eyes flickered, and closed.
He held her hand tightly in his,
“Do rest in a gentle lullaby as they fly
You away to where you belong.”
A tear shed his eye, and he leaned over
To settle one last kiss upon her cheek.
“Farewell my darling,
My angel.”

This is so beautiful! It nearly moved me to tears. And to be able to evoke such emotion with your words is evidence of your talent. Imagery, flow, everything about it is perfect. Excellent work!

Dear God this is the most depressingly beautiful poem Ive ever read. Im definately going to read more of you work, I cant even tell you exactly how I feel, inspired by his love but devestated about the loss. Amazing write.

I absolutely adore how you incorporated dialogue into a poem. Usually, when dialogue is intergrated, it's forced, and unnecessary, but this is perfect. And it also includes some great imagery. Everywhere you turn, every facet you inspect of this poem is incredible. Spectacular Write!!!

Oh my gosh, this poem is fantastic!! I really really love it. I'm all emotional now, I'm actually teary-eyed, haha!! Anyway, this such an incredibly beautiful poem... I really can't find the words to describe it. My favorite lines are definately:

And keep it next to your soul." - That is gorgeous imagery. You are extremely talented, you should feel very proud! Well done, brilliant write
