Julie

You first see her eyes, so dark and intense,
  A loveliness singular, a heart satiated;
Sister won by Him, no sitting on a fence,
  Gladly for His will, in Him she’s fated.

With playful wit, of childlike abandon,
  Banter with glee, a glow from the sun;
She jabs at my heart, but only for fun,
  Plays games with my name, all on a run.

A soul without age, beaming with joy,
  Timelessly laughing, loving her life;
Loving sports of all kinds, just like a boy,
  One would not know, if she’s in strife.

She loves many types of musical forms,
  Rock, jazz, or bluegrass, you’ll see;
There’s not many where her heart’s not warmed,
  Just give her a tune, upon which she’s free.

A friend to a fault, to many of us,
  She’ll talk with you, just for the knowing;
Spend time with her, and rise from the dust,
  Gain her as friend, a blessing growing.

We’re blessed to know her, a time that is precious,
  Her smile is His art, drawn by the Son;
Just moments with her, are those that refreshes,
  I thank the Lord, in Him she’s won.

Take this my sis, my vision of you,
  One friend to another, words that are due;
Apart from my glib, this write is true,
  And know of my joy, in knowing you.

Author notes

For a friend, who is very warm and very fun to be with. Many are blessed just to talk with her.

    Julie's comment on the poem:

    "Thank you so much for the poem. Precious, it is. And a blessing it is to have you as a friend. I must say though, one line in there was curious...'...just like a boy one would not know if she's in strife' hhhhmmmmm

    Have a good day,
    J"

    So I explained to her the meaning of that stanza.

    She should be reading it this morning, as I write this. Like I said above, I wish I could be there for her to read this.

    Thanks, Mbrace...I still don't understand. This is such a great mystery to me. But then, I do the same thing with the Lord, even moreso...Hmmm...

    She'll get a copy of this tomorrow, when she goes into work and reads her email. I only wish I could be there to see her expression when she reads it. I do really care for her.

    As always, Davine , your comments are a blessing in themselves. I especially appreciate you mention my having a knack with writing a poem of dedication to a particular individual, since I am most aware of a challenge in relating to others. Thanks so much for that!

    My gosh, that was so beautiful. So sweet. A truly perfect write. I could ramble and ramble, but it just would take away from your poem. This was lovely, your friend will adore it! Fantastic, thanks for sharing.
