Night Fell

A thousand eyes upon me
In one black sky,
Twinkling, winking,
High above my soul.

Somewhere out there
I hear a sound,
It's the sound of everything
Passing on by.

No good deed goes unpunished
Or this is what I am told;
Heaven becomes Hell
Under one black sky.

The night has fallen fast,
Here among my dreams,
There among my past,
And then among my desires.

At some point you know it,
Your best friend is you.
Won't do anything for anyone,
No one but myself.

sigh - i hate feeling like this, and sometimes until we come to grips with the fact that WE ARE OUR BEST FRIENDS .. well until then we're just walking around blindly and just waiting to be broken, anyways enough rambling from Cass, good job

This is very deep and well written. I like what you had to say about realizing that your best friend is yourself. Hugs, Penny

I thought it was good. I like the stucture. The background would be cool if it was twinkling stars, but that's just my preferance. It's a very realistic poem. Good job,
