I was lost, wandering in a world unknown
looking desperately, for a light to be shown
someone pure, who could help me find my way
and give me a reason to live out my days
I was pale from this absence of light
hiding within the shadows of my life
I'd felt inside what was happening to me
but in this darkness, it was too hard to see
In my existence, everything was dim
yet glimpses of an outside world showed in
I saw other people, lit up with smiles
and living out their lives worthwhile
I'd slink back down, letting the tears fall
knowing in this state, I couldn't live at all
I had to find someone, to light my way
and deep within my dreams, I began to pray
I was lurking about in the shadows one day
when I noticed a little flickering ray
this ray of light came out of the blue
and you're essence began to shine through
oh, it was so painfully bright at first
but I knew that I'd been through the worst
you'd saved me, from what I might've become
you looked right at me, and saw someone
someone you decided to help, and pull above
and right then I'd felt your compassion and love
I am so grateful for this gift, that you've given me
a second chance that I'll actually get to see
a new life together, that I know we're both due
I just hope that I was the same light for you

A really touching and tender poem that was written from the heart. Best of luck in my contest, and thanks for entering this wonderful poem.

Thank you David =)
wow I'm truly honored for your silver trophy, it's the first trophy I've been awarded in over 2 years here ^.^;;
I really appreciate the type of contest you came up with here, open to any type of poetry and limited to the first 10 submissions .. entering a contest with 100+ other entrants just seems to be too much for everyone involved to be helpful to anyone at all .. the poor contest host having to read through a hundred poems, and so many poets take the time to enter a piece as defined within the contests rules and guidelines ...
I wish more contests were much like yours in this regard =)
Thanks again for the kind words and finding something special in Lost and Found to merit being awarded the silver trophy =D
