Devour

you laugh aloud as you play with your hair,
batting your eyes so severely.
leaving behind once again a trapped heart
blinded, now cannot see clearly.
over and over your gnashing teeth
destroy every man and the next;
use them, abuse them, it all comes so natural
to leave the poor boys so perplexed.
you confuse me profusely, but i cannot judge,
for i have been in your shoes once...
i have known what its like to need what you need,
to pull all of your kind of stunts.
so quiet i stay, and remain in myself,
i cannot say even a word.
and on you will go with your devouring mouth,
consuming every compliment heard.
i sit and i listen and memories flood,
but still sense does not seem to unfold.
i remember, but yet i cannot understand it;
the power this girl seems to hold.
the color emerging from the deepest of parts
seems to fade more with every blank speech.
and my heart starts to crumple in rememberence of a girl
who, any restrictions did breech.
finally realization occurs,
and reality sinks deep:
there is no hope for this girl, this, her comfort,
is vital for her survival to keep.
