Broken Hearts and Valentine Candy

(a collection of Haiku poems)

my un-valentine
gives nonexistant candy
with their sweet un-love

liquid chocolate on
strawberries touches your mouth
my envy of fruit

a phone call recieved
the valentine's day break-up
vodka equals love

red ink on pink paper
bad parfum smear words of amor
worth more than diamonds

today has "true love"
chocolate in boxes, big lies
tomorrow has regrets

Author notes

um...it has been awhile since I did this style, do I have the meter right?

that's fine. I am glad that you were able to find all the messages made on your poem. It was really nice and it would have been a shame to loose all the nice things people had to say about it. Thanks for commenting here on my poems. I am glad you can relate to them even if it is in a sad way. ^^

I haven't read this in depth, but from what I see you have the traditional meter down pat. Haiku forces me to condense my ideas...and that's why I don't like them much except in certain situations, lol This collection made me feel quite sad... I can relate, though, since I have never had a good experience with love, relationships or Valentine's Day. Your poem reminds me of my grade school days when I was left out from all the festivities...I've gotten used to that, though. What more is there to say?

I hope you have better experiences in the year ahead. Thanks for your comment to "Coming To Carry You Home", and so sorry it took me so long to get here!

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

i like this. love stinks but in the end when you find your true love, and i do belive in true love, it will be worth all the pain you endured.

this is wonderful. sad, but still very beautifully written. it captures the bitterness, heartbreak, sadness that can come from valentine's day. i love the opening line of my un-valentine/ gives nonexistant candy. honest emotion here. i like it. keep up the great work, and thank you for sharing <3

this is really really great. bitter, in most senses. the way you speak of these things, it is so cunning.
i relish this, and envy your ability to anthropomorphize such blase objectivity.
