Infatuation

You may not love me,
but in this moment I don't care.
Not while the sun is filtering through
finger marks, dust, and rain streaks
on the window
to touch me with its heat.
An idle warmth.
Not while the lecture is nothing
more than a muted buzzing
in my ear.
Subdued by my mesmeric want
of you;
to explore you.
Not all of you,
that would be too great a task.
But perhaps for today
I can focus
on your left ankle.
Where your skin is bared,
in between your crumpled sock
and too short pant leg.
My eyes could dwell there,
amongst the hair.
And I can envision my hand
pressed there
sliding my thumb
up underneath the fabric,
only an inch,
to be connected to your unknown.

This was a really sweet poem. and we all become infatuated at one point or another with somebody. I just really liked this piece. It was so vulnerable and honest and open! Great work! Keep penning!
