Listen For Me

Listen For Me

I am the messenger that whispers in the night.
Speaking in your shadows as you lie awake,
My voice, Your voice, coalescing and tight.

I speak to you in visions cast in pallid light,
Dragged behind eyelids that shut and quake.
I am the messenger that whispers in the night.

My message of indulgences for you to write
Penance and contrition in hands that shake.
My voice, Your voice, coalescing and tight.

Who are you to listen; in moments of fright?
It my message, delivered in dreams. Dare not forsake.
I am the messenger that whispers in the night.

Deny me a voice and my vengeance takes flight
To ring the tolling bell in death’s requiem wake
My voice, Your voice, coalescing and tight.

Listen to me carefully and brook not my spite,
For it is your sanity that I will encompass and break.
I am the messenger that whispers in the night,
My voice, Your voice, coalescing and tight.

Dang!!! This took my breath away. I have heard that messenger at night and I gotta tell you, it still scares the hell out of me. You have such a vocabulary which I envy. So beautiful with every piece you pen and this one keeps your talent shining!!
