Stranger than Fiction

Tony and Tina's wedding tarantula
caused an incurable mad dance
in 200 townspeople
before the Uruguay navy arrived
and saved the day
by firing cheese cannonballs
from ships named after Barcelona prostitutes
whose days off during the French Revolution
were on the days of Eggplant, Manure, and Spinach.

As a matter of fact, this all happened before
in history when Leonardo de Vinci purchased
chicken farms and set the chickens free,
and Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates whined
about the declining morality of Greece's nude Olympics
While Persian King Xerxes had stormy weather punished
by having the water whipped 300 times.

What does this have to do with the Spanish
being defeated by a Dutch army on ice skates,
or Catherine of Aragon being a widow and a virgin
when she married King Henry the VIII,
or a future King of France living over
a Philadelphia bar?
You would think that the current Prime Minister of England
spent his days fondly reminiscing about his former band
"The Ugly Rumours"
or that France had been ruled by
Charles the Fat, Charles the Simple, Charles the Bold,
and Charles the Well-Served.
Really now! What kind of world do you think we live in?

............Stranger than Fiction-
              everything of course is true-

I have a big smile on my face. See! ---> Do you know why? I'll tell you why! I have actually heard a few of these incidents. Do not ask me why I chose to store such information within the files of my mind, but yeah, truthfully, I have heard of a few of these. And yes... they are indeed stranger than fiction. Would you like to know something else? It does not surprise me a bit that you know this stuff! Let me clarify why so there is no mistaking my meaning here... you are a very intelligent man with a bulging storehouse of information. I admire the depth and diversity of your writing. Good luck in the contest!
