Hello there
Life I knew
I've waited so frantically
Just for you
And I think you know
You're the only way for me
Dreaming in a forest
Of what wasn't and will never be
You're a dream
That they don't see
But there IS no other way for me
You're a life
That they won't believe
There's a sunny room I know
In a place I used to go
And a porch
And a swing
On the sunnier side
Of an empty street
It's my present
And my past
All the things
That're meant to last
In a house I used to live in
Inside an everlasting hourglass
Those songs we used to sing
When I didn't understand
Just what they would come to mean
Those songs sang me to sleep
They still do, even now
So this is the dream I keep
I will find that life somehow
Life I knew
I've waited so frantically
Just for you
And I think you know
You're the only way for me
Dreaming in a forest
Of what wasn't and will never be
You're a dream
That they don't see
But there IS no other way for me
You're a life
That they won't believe
There's a sunny room I know
In a place I used to go
And a porch
And a swing
On the sunnier side
Of an empty street
It's my present
And my past
All the things
That're meant to last
In a house I used to live in
Inside an everlasting hourglass
Those songs we used to sing
When I didn't understand
Just what they would come to mean
Those songs sang me to sleep
They still do, even now
So this is the dream I keep
I will find that life somehow
Author notes
I get so nostalgic about my old life... my parents were married, and we lived up north... and I was little. Everything's different when you're little : D
There's a certain aspect of that time that I want for myself when I'm older... an artsy kind of free about it.
I always wish I could share my past with people... I think it's what defines me... where I've come from. I'm proud of it, dang it! hehe

Wow.This was beautiful! Your word choice was perfect, and the flow worked by it just right.Very well written!
I love this! Your heart's so evident in each line and that's my favorite thing as far as poetry goes.I don't know,it's just so much more meaningful to read something from seomeone's heart, than to read just scribbled words. I love this!! Absolutely stunning!
Love always
