Recipe To My Heart

1 cup darkness
2 cups light
˝ cup opinion
And he’ll be just right
1 perfect smile
A pinch of bad
A bundle of happy
And not too much sad
1 gallon of hotness
A dab of flaws
A whole lot of reason
A pint of cause
Give me some laughter
And make it loud
Lots of humor
But not too proud
3 oz of cuddle
1 tsp of space
4 lbs of manliness
2 qt of grace
Mix it all together
Bake it long
I want him handsome
I want him strong
Take him out
And top him with trust
Coat on some passion
And love is a must
After that
Hand him over to me
You’ve read the recipe to my heart
And made my husband to be

The ending could be a little smoother. That second to last line sort of throws off the beat you'd set in the preceding lines. Best recipe poem I've come across I think. I like the combinations!

    Thanks for entering.

    This is EXCELLENT! It flowed like black molassas, sugary sweet. Oh, I truly loved your recipe. This is what poetry is all about. Your oven-baked notions of love are purely rhythmic, and leave me salivating for more. Very original and creative! The coating is just right. My favorite lines;

    "Give me some laughter
    And make it loud
    Lots of humor
    But not too proud
    "

I simply loved this. It made me smile!
